ARRI MASTER ANAMORPHIC 180/T2.8 M

The ARRI Master Anamorphic lenses are the result of a cooperation with ARRI’s long-term lens partner Carl Zeiss.

For such a long focal length, the 180 mm MA180 has an impressively fast stop of T2.8 and a compact design, with a front diameter of just 95 mm.

The anamorphic lenses offer a unique optical performance, with optimised flare and bokeh as well  as state-of-the-art lens barrels featuring improved dust and water protection. All nine Master Anamorphic lenses (28, 35, 40, 50, 60, 75, 100, 135, 180mm) are super colour matched to other ARRI/Zeiss primes and ARRI/Fujinon zooms as well. They provide revolutionary new optical technology in anamorphic lenses for virtually no image breathing, no distortion and no anamorphic mumps (fat face effect). Their near telecentric optical design reduces colour fringing and shading at the image corners. These are the first anamorphic lenses to be designed from scratch for modern digital cameras, although they will work with analogue film cameras as well. However, they benefit from the combination with ARRI ALEXA 4.3 cameras for overall image quality. ARRI Master Anamorphic lenses are optimised for aesthetic look and feature evenly illuminated oval out-of-focus highlights without any sharp edges due to the newly developed iris with 15 aperture blades. The lens barrel is based on the same reliable mechanics as the industry-renowned ARRI Master Prime lenses but with even better sealing against dust and humidity, the completely new focusing mechanism overcomes time-consuming mechanical readjustments on the set.
